Exclusive Opportunity: In-house Private Credit Counsel (Los Angeles or New York)
Our client is an investment adviser that focuses on alternative investment strategies and provides investment consulting services primarily to institutional investors, including pension funds, endowments, foundations, and financial institutions. We placed the General Counsel with the company, and also, we’ve placed two Directors on the legal team. Our client is looking to add a private credit in-house counsel to join its legal team. The company has offices in Los Angeles and New York, and you can be based in either location. California or New York bar admission is not required; however, you must be a member of a state bar in good standing. Candidates who want to relocate to Los Angeles or New York are welcome to apply. The ideal candidate will possess 3-6 years of experience working on corporate private credit. Additional experience with preferred equity investments, private investment funds and/or ’40 Act funds is also helpful. Other experience will include reviewing and negotiating agreements, administrative compliance with agreements, compliance with regulatory requirements, and closing of transactions.
Our client offers competitive compensation, and a very generous benefits package (including a 401k match). The company is an equal opportunity employer. To learn more, please contact Barbara Levenson: email@example.com.

In this role, you will work directly with the Director of Underwriting, the Chief Investment Officer and other senior management, as well as credit, loan servicing and accounting professionals in order to achieve the company’s goals. The job entails legal writing and other due diligence, transaction negotiation and documentation, and advising our client’s Investment Committee on the merits of potential transactions, and the underlying litigation. Judicial clerkship experience preferred. Top credentials required. Some basic Microsoft Excel experience is also required. The company is located in Marin County and easily accessible from San Francisco and the East Bay.
