Portfolio Counsel

Our client is a Finance Firm in the rapidly growing litigation funding space. The company is seeking a lawyer with 5+ years of litigation experience to help underwrite various opportunities to invest in lawsuits and other disputes. This is not a litigation position. In this role, you will work directly with the Director of Underwriting, the Chief Investment Officer and other senior management, as well as credit, loan servicing and accounting professionals in order to achieve the company’s goals. The job entails legal writing and other due diligence, transaction negotiation and documentation, and advising our client’s Investment Committee on the merits of potential transactions, and the underlying litigation. Judicial clerkship experience preferred. Top credentials required. Some basic Microsoft Excel experience is also required. The company is located in Marin County and easily accessible from San Francisco and the East Bay.

Commercial Transactions Attorney Position, Office of the General Counsel
Senior Manager: San Francisco, New York, or Northern Virginia (McLean, VA)

The Commercial Transactions Attorney of this multinational business is responsible for reviewing, drafting, revising, negotiating and advising on complex requests for proposal, consulting services agreements, master services agreement, engagement letters, subcontracts, nondisclosure agreements, access letters and other types of agreements consistent with the firm’s risk management practices. The successful candidate will have at least 3 years of experience as a highly motivated, contracting/transactional attorney. This attorney must be proactive, able to work both independently and in a team, have strong leadership skills, and will uphold the firm’s code of ethics and business conduct. The successful candidate must have strong drafting and negotiation skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
 This attorney will demonstrate abilities and/or a record of success managing efforts with identifying and addressing client needs including in the following areas: identifying and analyzing complex legal/regulatory/business issues and providing appropriate legal advice regarding applicable legal and professional standards, often on a time-sensitive basis; demonstrating negotiation skills with respect to legal issues; managing multiple cases/matters/projects and/or teams of internal and/or external resources; and, building consensus, even for difficult or unpopular courses of action necessitated by legal or regulatory requirements.
